PIP standard rate 2026/27

The PIP standard rate applies when you score 8, 9, 10 or 11 points on a component. There are two standard rates: Daily Living at £73.90 per week and Mobility at £29.20 per week.

Is the standard rate taxable?

No. PIP is not subject to income tax and does not count as income for tax purposes. It also does not affect your personal allowance.

How standard differs from enhanced

Standard applies at 8 to 11 points on a component; enhanced applies at 12 points or more. The financial gap is significant: enhanced Daily Living is £110.40 per week (a difference of £36.50 versus standard), and enhanced Mobility is £77.05 per week (a difference of £47.85).
