Total unlock value: PIP plus passported benefits

The headline PIP figure is the weekly award. The household figure is much larger once Carer's Allowance and Council Tax reduction are added. At the maximum (enhanced on both components plus a 35-hour-a-week carer), the combined annual value exceeds £15,000.

All figures on this page are taken from Benefit and pension rates 2026 to 2027 (DWP, published April 2026) and the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Act 2025. What the figures include and exclude

Universal Credit stacking

PIP is fully disregarded as income for Universal Credit, so the figures above stack on top of any UC award. The UC health element (£50.00/week new-claim, £97.00/week legacy) is a separate payment that may also apply if you have limited capability for work-related activity.
